As a mum of two, I decided to set up my own business because I wanted the flexibility I needed as a working parent of two small children.

I have spent 18 years now working in the Accounts department at a local firm. I started there as a trainee in 1996, and reached the heady-heights of Management Accountant in 2000, I became a passed finalist in 2003 and gained membership of CIMA in 2006.

I have always loved my job, this area has such a wide range of different types of businesses that I am sure I will enjoy the variety of work and the challenges I am exposed to. In my previous job, I didn't get the opportunity to go out and meet my clients. Now I will get to help people from a variety of industries and backgrounds.

As someone who lives on the border between Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire Moorlands – with countryside on one side and industry on the other, this gives me the opportunity to get to know lots of local businesses and help them grow.
